SuperEnaLotto Shutdown Due to Coronavirus
Italian Government Cancels SuperEnaLotto Because of Coronavirus
SuperEnaLotto is the latest game that is affected by the Coronavirus.
The Italian government is demanding temporary closes of more and more businesses in an attempt to halt the spread of Covid-19.
Yesterday, on the 26th of March, the SuperEnaLotto draw was cancelled since the Italian State Monopolies decided to close almost all gambling games.
Italian lotteries were at first allowed even though other gambling such as casino games and betting had been cancelled.
Just like the coronavirus affected Powerball lottery, the majority of SuperEnaLotto tickets sold are through physical vendors throughout Italy such as tobacco shops.
The temporary shutdown of SuperEnaLotto is both an attempt to make Italians stay at home as well as being able to handle the decreased sale of tickets.
The current SuperEnaLotto jackpot will be frozen on its current €36.3 million.
As of now, all Italian lotteries will remain closed until the 3rd of April when the Italian government will decide to either start it again or postpone yet again based on the state of Italy.
SuperEnaLotto Still Available Online
Even though the government has cancelled the official SuperEnaLotto draw because of the coronavirus you can still play online.
Some of the best lottery websites, where you can make bets on lotteries rather than play, have made their own draws allowing you to continue to play.
Even though you aren’t playing against the official game all the rules and payouts are still the same.
Currently, I have only seen Lottoland make arrangements so you can play.
Since the cancellation was announced just yesterday I am sure there still might be other sites that will create their own draws but haven’t had time to prepare.
But how does the SuperEnaLotto draw work when it’s cancelled?
Simple, lotto bookkeepers use Random Number Generator technology to make their own SuperEnaLotto draw.
Let me explain.
Almost all lottery bookkeepers have licenses to provide their own lotteries.
A requirement for providing lotteries is that they must have and use (RNG) Random Number Generator programs to choose the numbers for the draw.
These programs are checked by the authorities that hand out the license and the bookkeeper is constantly checked that all draws are made with the RNG program.
There is no way to choose which numbers the program choose so it works exactly like any ball and drum system where each ball has the same chance of being drawn.
With this technology, they make a dedicated draw for the SuperEnaLotto.
This means that essentially it is like playing just as normal only the draw is made out of Lottoland headquarters in Gilbraltar rather than in Rome.
So if you still want to play SuperEnaLotto, feel free to enjoy it at Lottoland.
